VINTAGE SHOPPING THIS WEEKEND womens expo

We took a trip out Chilliwack last night
and here are some quick photos I took in the expos vintage alley.
Elisa of Home Sweet Nest has some marvelous smalls to choose from at great prices.
Home Sweet Nest also has some wonderful furniture pieces.
She has a fun Hudsons Bay Company Themed Bench (not pictured)
upholstered with a vintage mink coat.
I just may try that some time.
Country Lane Decor has some beautiful work displayed of furniture built with reclaimed wood.
The ladies of The Passionate Home are having on site chalk paint demos.
They also have some great vintage goodies you can purchase.
This is my favorite shot,
in the back ground you can see our sweet Elinor of the Passionate Home.

Cant get enough of this color and my new workshop!!!!

I'm on a turquoise color kick! I just love this color from the
Real Milk Paint co.  They call it cobalt but it's this stunning shade of turquoise.
This 100 yr old buffet was in great condition.
I didn't want to cover up the wood but just wanted to enhance it a bit.
I forgot to snap a pic before I started.  The wood is quarter sawn oak and hardly needed any
attention. I sanded the doors and drawers and went over them with some stain that
matched the body. Painted with the milk paint. Oh I forgot, I actually did a first coat
with the color "peacock" and then did my second coat in cobalt.  I didn't want the color
to be too bright and I like the greenish-blue underneath.
I have to post a pic of my new garage makeover-workbench area!  Everything was done with stuff
we already had laying around the garage. The wood flooring on the wall has been up in the rafters
for 5 years! Wasn't enough to really do anything with so why not bling up the workspace area?!
Mr Pretty built me the new work bench and put the wood on the wall. I stained and sealed, as usual!

George spotted this wine crate at a yard sale and suggested I use the graphics on my next project.
I bought this charming fluted leg table with 2 drawers at a fundraiser a few weeks ago.

THIS LITTLE PINKY pink chandelier

Ive been able to get a few projects underway around here just for us.
70% of our Christmas decorations put away, only because Im doing a full re-organizing of them all.
Weve had our first big snow fall Saturday, more on Monday and still more forecasted this week.
Not typical for a Vancouver winter.
I did take advantage of the pristine white snow when photographing this daring
chandelier I just finished.
Just last week it was warm enough to spray paint outside and have it dry in 10 minutes.
I only do chandeliers every now and then because they
can take countless hours of painting and embellishing.
Someone did try to DIY this one before I got it but they must have lost steam.
I used a soft pretty pink spray paint from Krylon.
The 5 light arms are lined with several meters of garland beads secured with nylon line.
I added the metal crown feature at the top stolen from my electrical parts department.
** Parts Department = Rubbermaid bin sitting on the shelf **
The hanging beads and flower embellishments I used on this chandelier
were all purchased at Michaels for a pretty penny.
But I had a goal and Im extremely pleased with the finished look.
The flowers are a translucent acrylic material.
Hand made in Thailand, each petal is stitched around a center crystal.
They are extremely cool.
