This project took a full week, longer than I had thought but I am very happy with the results.
I had thought about keeping the arborite but it was too brittle to work around.
Dealing with this area took a full day in its self and was a dirty process.
The pull out cutting board was lost and the doors were replaced with other salvaged finds.
The cabinet was one solid tall unit that I couldnt get into my work room.
So the first step was to cut it into 2 pieces before ripping it into pieces.
This area by far received the most work.
The back section was completely replaced and the side panels are a cover up job.
All salvaged antique quarter inch dark stained oak panels painted in old white.
The distressing is perfect!
This rich dark stained surface is another piece that was completely new to the piece.
The cupboard is 84.5" tall, so tall the top shelf is almost unusable on a regular basis.
I decided to make the top shelf simple open display.
The upper doors are also open to display treasures.
The back panels had previous damage so I replaced them.
Then I lined the interior with this fun chartreus and cream wallpaper.
I also lined the lower cupboard shelves with the same wallpaper.
I transferred a few fun graphics to the new bottom doors
and made them look like old fashioned store bins with hinges and cup handles.

We found a great little pair of bedside tables while we were
second hand shopping recently.
This is one of those deceiving before photos where the items look better then they actually are.
Why doesnt that happen when we want it to?
I removed the hardware and gave them a good cleaning.
The doors have glass inserts which come out very easily making painting
a lot smoother.
I spray painted the handles bright white.
I chose to paint the inside of the cupboard which taught me,
waxing and buffing the inside of cupboards isnt a lot of fun.
The glass insert in the doors have a pretty white boarder detail which accents the handles nicely.
I used old white chalk paint in the sprayer and hand sanded to distress these little gems.
I added a soft rose printed paper for a drawer liner.

I finished up a little frenchy damask lined cabinet today.
I distressed all the accents, corners and edges.
Shes been painted and lined for some time but I hadnt got around
to cutting and installing the shelves.
I completely lined the interior of this little cupboard,
assuming she would be used for towels, shoes, or even extra kitchen storage.
She would be great for a small space.
UPDATE: This little cabinet is SOLD.
Ive also been working on some kitchen upgrades.
and finishing a single solid pine night stand in soft creamy white,
that will be listed on the AVAILABLE page soon.
